eSite x10 offers a solution for configuration, remote monitoring, analysing, and optimizing of the performance of all eSites in an entire network via eSite Tools.
All signal data that is processed on eSite x10 is transferred to eSite Tools. The time interval between transferred samples is ten minutes by default, this can be configured. In case of interrupted communication all data is buffered and is uploaded automatically when connection is restored. All data is also stored locally on site. Alarms are instantly send from eSite x10 to eSite Tools without waiting for normal data synchronization.
eSite Tools communication
- TCP/IP based communication protocol with SSL encryption. - Connection through intranet or Internet via wireless network. - Built in modem that works with standard internet enabled SIM cards / Public IP. VPN or private APN are not required. - Automatic registration of eSites to eSite Tools server.
Alarms
- Instantaneous alarm activation, independent of data synchronization intervals. -Event buffering and automatic send on reconnect in case of interrupted communication. -Time stamps embedded in events, enabling alarm analysis of periods with offline states. -Alarm forwarding through e-mail and SMS via SMPP or HTTP gateway.
Reports
- Pre-defined reports for network key performance indicator (KPI) overviews and daily site KPI details. - Customizable user-defined reports can be created for any data set. - Scheduling of automatic report generation and distribution. - Active data analysis tools.
Asset Management
- Site maintenance management. - Genset maintenance management.
Functions
- Remote software updates and tuning of configuration parameters on eSite x10.
Figure 8.1 shows a network overview with all the sites in a network. The view can be customized, exported to PDF, XML, CSV, Excel. There are extensive filter and search functions.
Figure 7.2 shows an overview of a site with its signal data and historical graphs. From this view it is also possible to generate reports, configure the site and download all data in Excel files.
eSite Web provides the user with an overview of the eSite x10 status and active alarms. eSite Web opens in a web browser on site using laptop or a smartphone connected via Wi-Fi or LAN cable. It also offers a possibility to configure eSite x10.
Figure 7.3 shows an overview of the main information provided to the user by eSite Web. More detailed information about the various system parts is available under the respective tabs.
eSite Web allows for two user levels. Each user requires a user name and a password.
Operator
View data and alarms (read only).
Admin
View data and alarms. Configure the system. Update the system and download data.
The eSite Web header (see figure 7.4) contains information about the specific eSite x10.
The eSite x10 provide support for SNMP communication. A complete MIB with all signals specified can be requested from eSite Power Systems.
A Modbus server for external communication of data to a third party system can be started via the local Web. eSite x10 support Modbus-RTU and Modbus-TCP. A complete register with all signals specified can be requested from eSite Power Systems.
The eSite x10 Alarm management system monitors the site and will trigger alarms if something is not functioning. Alarms can be indicated in eSite Web and eSite Tools. Settings for most alarms can be configured via eSite Tools. All alarms are defined in types based on severity. For more information about Alarm management, see eSite x10 Operations manual.
The Connection Compartment is equipped with indication lights both on the outside and on the inside. On the inside, the indication lights are placed on the Lower Main. The outside lights indicate the actual state of the eSite x10. The inside lights are used for troubleshooting.
